Flight Dispatcher (FD)
•The FD is responsible for the operational control and safety of PF flights and for the adherence of PF and GCAA requirements.
•Conducts required trip validation checklist for each flight.
•Authorizes, regulates, controls and terminates aircraft flights in accordance with company and governmental regulations and policies to ensure safety.
•Prepares and revises OFP (to ensure validity of data ) and operationally brief (with flight crew and other Operations Division staff) with information including maximum allowable takeoff and landing weights, weather reports, field conditions, METARs, TAFs, NOTAMs, PIREPs, Navdata, EGPWS and other information required for the safe completion of the flight
•Computes the amount of fuel required, time of flight, maintenance limitations, weather conditions, and other factors affecting safety of flight using company guidelines
•Monitors weather conditions, aircraft position reports, aeronautical navigation charts and aircraft radio calls to evaluate the progress and safety of the flight
•Responsible for the ongoing monitoring of the status of the aircraft, with particular emphasis on meteorological conditions, airport conditions, aircraft MEL, fuel requirements, etc...
•Monitors PF movement during the Flight Watch phase of a flight; responsible to anticipate the requirements of flights and closely monitors their progress through AIRCOM & other systems.
•Advises the pilot in command of significant changes to weather or the flight plan and recommends changes as required for the continued safe operation of the flight
•Assists the pilot in command of an aircraft with an emergency situation by providing any assistance necessary to ensure safe completion of the flight.
•Alerts and advises the Flight Dispatch Manager of adverse or sever disruptions and records on the DFD handover file.
•Monitors Acars and answers Satcom and VHF.
•Liaises with all required parties within PF including Flight Crew, Performance Engineer, Maintenance and Engineering department to evaluate any items that may affect the performance of the aircraft.
•Maintains an operational flight watches over all PF aircrafts under duty, monitors other aircrafts involved in PF missions as required.
•Prepares and signs the dispatch OFP.
•Initiates and responds to all communications to ensure the success of every flight.
•Initiates appropriate action and response to a crisis situation. ERP activated when necessary.
•Handles projects as directed by the Flight support Director/Manager..
•Complies with local legal requirements by staying abreast with existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions.
Essential: High School and further education holding diplomas.
Dispatcher license ( for expatriates) to hold a current FAA Aeroplane Dispatcher license or a UAE dispatch license
Desirable: Bachelor in related field
Essential: Flight Dispatcher (FD) is a GCAA UAE licensed
Experience & Knowledge:
Essential: 2 years working experience in an operational department
•AOC or UAE GCAA AOC carrier.
•Trained on crisis management and emergency procedures
Desirable: •Crew control experience and a working knowledge
•Computer flight planning experience
•IT experience and qualifications, SITA, Aircom
•CRM certificate holder
•Performance and weight and balance course certificates
Essential: Fluent in written and spoken Arabic
